Vocabulary
Brigáda - part time job, volunteer work. Pozor! Neplést s ang. slovem brigade, což je jedno z tzv. FALSE FRIENDS (slova s češtinou podobná, ale mající jiný význam) a v angličtině znamená "vojenský oddíl, četa"
Sidewalk (AmE) - chodník, Pavement (BrE) - chodník; podobné můžeme používat i slovíčka pathway nebo walkway - to jsou ale spíš cestičky přírodou nebo k domu. Click on the links and see for yourself.

I bit more than I could chew - ukousl jsem si příliš velký krajíc, naložil jsem si víc než jsem byl schopný zvládnout. Např. Frank Sinatra zpívá v písni My Way ( .... I bit more than I can chew ... )
I wouldn't touch it with a ten feet pole / I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole - neopřel bych se o to/ho/ni ani kolo
Blow a whistle on someone - udat někoho, prásknout - doslova zapískat píšťalkou, když něco provádí.
Don't sweat it! - neboj; to neřeš (hovorově) = don't worry about it / Don't sweat it! We've got plenty of time to get there before the show starts.
Don't overthink it! - nekomplikuj to; neřeš to = don't think or analyze too much / Don't overthink the problem. It's not that difficult.

Different (adj) - rozdílný (přídavné jméno) - Difference (noun) - rozdíl (podst. jméno). These two cars are totally different. The first one is a Toyota and the other one is a Porsche. There is a huge difference between them.
Difficult x demanding x tough / hard x heavy
Difficult - obtížný, těžký (náročný) //// také těžko zvládnutelný (např. od dítěti). The maths test yesterday was very difficult / Ten včerejší test z matiky byl velmi těžký (obtížný, náročný). ..... was very heavy. (heavy - těžký, hodné vážící) ///// She is a very difficult child - Je velmi těžce zvládnutelné dítě.
Demanding - náročný, vyžadující hodně času, schopností a energie. My new job is very demanding. It takes up too much of my free time / Moje nová práce je hodně náročná. Bere mi až moc mého volného času. ///// She is a very demanding child - Je hodně náročné dítě (dítě které si vyžaduje hodně pozornosti).
Tough / Hard ( v mnoha případech jsou zaměnitelné) - těžký, náročný něco udělat nebo se s něčím poprat (popř. vycházet s někým) He's having a really tough time at the moment. / Teď prožívá zrovna fakt náročné období //// He is a hard man to pleasure - Je to člověk, kterého není jednoduché potěšit (uspokojit) = He is a demanding person. Obecně je Tough spíš tuhý ( meat can be tough nikoli hard), hard je spíš tvrdý (glass can be hard nikoliv tough)
Heavy - těžký, něco co má velkou hmotnost / How heavy is that box? = how much does it weigh? Jak těžká je ta krabice? Kolik váží?
